8 Things No Woman Should Do to Her Breasts to Keep Them Healthy

1. Removing hairs

2. Running in a sports bra or without a bra at all
More than 50% of women experience breast pain during exercise. Breasts move up to 21 cm while running or jumping. That’s why it’s necessary to pick the right bra for sports and not to use a normal bra for your daily fitness routine.
How to pick the right sports bra:
- For each kind of sport, you need a different bra. There are low, medium, or high impact bras to choose from. Consult with a shop assistant if you don’t know which one to buy.
- The fabric of the cup should be smooth and tight. If you see wrinkles in the fabric, the cup is too big.
- Remember that sports bras will last around 30-40 washes.
3. Wearing the wrong bra
If you chose the wrong type or size of your bra, you may feel constant pain or discomfort. The bra shouldn’t evoke a feeling of wanting to take it off.
How to find a perfect bra:
- Your bra shouldn’t dig into your sides. The nipples should be about halfway between your shoulders and elbows.
When you try on bras or if you change band sizes, you also have to change cup sizes.
Straps shouldn’t be too tight and dig into your shoulders.
Check that the fabric of the cups is smooth and that the edges lie flat against your chest.

4. Piercing your nipples
Of course, everyone has the right to do whatever they want with their body, but piercing is very dangerous for your breasts.
Why piercing is dangerous:
- Some women can be allergic to metal.
- Piercing can damage milk production and cause problems if you’re planning to breastfeed later.
- It increases the risk of developing an abscess and pain.
5. Using duct tape to fix your breasts
It’s an easy solution if you need to wear a dress with a big neckline or an open back, but you should remember that it isn’t a healthy option for your breasts.

You may be allergic to the tape. The risk of getting a rash around your nipples is high, so it can cause inflammation and itching.
6. Not moisturizing your breasts
We use creams on our faces, hands, and legs but sometimes we forget about other sensitive areas like our breasts. They deserve everyday care as well.

- Breasts develop itchy flakes and lose their elasticity.

- Don’t buy bras made with synthetic fabric.
Invest in a special moisture-wicking bra.
Use aluminium-free deodorant.

8. Flattening and squeezing the breasts
Flattening and squeezing your breasts may cause bruises and swelling that can lead to painful touch and tenderness.
Don’t be harsh with this sensitive zone because you can easily cause an injury.
What is recommended:
- While self-checking your breasts, be soft — you don’t need to squeeze them too hard.
- Get a bra that doesn’t flatten your breasts too much.
