Washington’s about to get lit for the holidays with ceremonies being held this week to set both the Capitol Christmas tree and the National Christmas Tree aglow.
First up is the annual Capitol Christmas tree lighting on Wednesday on the West Front Lawn. Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) will do the honors at the festivities, which are open to the public and begin at 5 p.m.
The Capitol Christmas tree will be illuminated until 11 p.m. each night through the new year.
The pair will help celebrate at the 97th annual lighting on the Ellipse on Thursday. The shindig — which starts at 5 p.m. and will be filmed as part of a TV broadcast — will also feature performances by country music singer Jessie James Decker, Colton Dixon from “American Idol,” and “The Voice” alum Spensha Baker.
