The model and TV personality, who regularly criticizes Trump in tweets to her nearly 12 million followers, has said she’s been blocked by the president.
But in a video released this week for Vanity Fair, when asked by husband John Legend if she would follow Trump on Twitter if he unblocked her, she quickly replied, “I would block him.”
“That’s all I’m waiting for in life,” Teigen, 33, added.
Trump took aim at Teigen in a September tweet — calling her Legend’s “filthy mouthed wife” — while claiming the pair and other criminal justice reform advocates were “taking the praise” for legislation he helped pass.
In July, a federal appeals court barred Trump from blocking his critics on Twitter, saying he “engaged in unconstitutional viewpoint discrimination by utilizing Twitter’s ‘blocking’ function to limit certain users’ access to his social media account, which is otherwise open to the public at large, because he disagrees with their speech.” The Justice Department has asked the court to reconsider the case.
In the Vanity Fair chat, Legend — also a vocal critic of Trump — was asked by his wife if he had anything else in common with the president, besides the fact that they both graduated from the University of Pennsylvania.
“We are both human beings,” the “All of Me” singer replied.
“We are both males,” said Legend, 40. After a long pause he added, “We both live in New York a significant amount of time.”
