We’re all waiting for IT: Chapter Two to be released – some of us with more excitement and others with more trepidation, given how terrifying the movie’s likely to be. Maybe you’ve been watching the trailer on repeat in a bid to psych yourself up for the September release date.
But now you might have to do a lot more because you will soon have the opportunity to come face to face with Pennywise – if you dare put yourself through an immersive experience based on Stephen King’s nightmarish horror novel that is.
The free ‘experience’ will land in London to coincide with the release date of the sequel to the 2017 film, and will run through the underground network of tunnels and rooms at The Vaults in Waterloo, bringing the terrifying story to life with a super-realistic set that’s giving us the heebie-jeebies just thinking about it.
If being scared out of your wits sounds like your idea of a great night out… well, rather you than me.
My fears aside, though, the event runs for five days from 31 August to 4 September, and will immerse you in bespoke sets from the film that will be recreated with strobe lighting, flashing images and headphones, while guests will also get a sneak preview of some clips from the new movie.

IT Chapter 2: The Vaults Experience spans over 11,000 square feet of bespoke sets built into the vast underground maze of disused railway tunnels, and will let ticket holders follow in the daring footsteps of The Losers Club.
The experience will combine nine themed areas where visitors will be able to immerse themselves in the chilling world of Pennywise the clown, and the dark underbelly of the fictional town of Derry (part of Stephen King’s alternate map of Maine, fact fans).
Tickets for the experience are free of charge and will be available to snap up here from 9am on 6 August. Good luck.

The sequel – which has a UK release date of 6 September – will continue to adapt the book and pick up with the Losers Club 27 years later, when they’re all adults.
Directed by Andy Muschietti and starring James McAvoy as Bill, Jessica Chastain as Beverly and (of course) Bill Skarsgard as Pennywise, the gang will return to Derry to thwart the clown once again.
We see the members of the ‘Losers’ Club’ fully grown and fairly well-adjusted, considering the terror wrought on them in the events of the first movie.
