PewDiePie: How Much Does He Make Per Year & What’s His Net Worth?

More people than the entire population of Germany subscribe to PewDiePie’s YouTube channel. So when he has an opinion on something, people listen. PewDiePie, whose real name is Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg took to his channel to suggest that storming Area 51 makes a lot of sense.

During a meme review he said: “September 20… What are you doing?

“According to this Facebook group event, 841 thousand people are going to raid Area 51. That’s crazy. Storm Area 51, they can’t stop all of us? That actually makes a lot of sense!”

The quote comes after over one million people signed up to Storm Area 51 via a Facebook event.

The event description reads: “We will all meet up at the Area 51 Alien Center tourist attraction and coordinate our entry. If we naruto run, we can move faster than their bullets. Let’s see them aliens.”

Like any rational person, we’re sure that the gaming streamer is joking, but he seemed to confirm the message later on in the video by saying: What? I mean, I can’t argue with these facts,” PewDiePie said. “It truly, truly, amazes me.”

He then went on to take a look at some of the hilarious memes that came from the movement.

Recently, PewDiePie took to Instagram to pose nude in the sea which sent his 17.5 million followers into a frenzy. He looked more like a Bond girl than a computer game streamer, maybe that’s why he’s almost hit 2 million likes in just 24 hours. Plenty of his followers took to the social media platform to pay him compliments, comparing him to the little mermaid, others weren’t quite so thrilled with NuDiePie.

We’ve taken a look at some of the lesser known facts about PewDiePie including his net worth and how much he makes per day. If you want to get super jealous then carry on reading.

How much is PewDiePie worth?

When Googling himself on a live video he read from a website claiming that he earns $3,400 (£2,600) per hour, saying: “I don’t know exactly how much I make per day but it doesn’t seem too far off which is pretty crazy when you think about it.

“Money is such an interesting topic for me because I obviously didn’t start YouTube to make money. A sad thing I’ve learned is how much people value money in a way or at least the idea of money.

“People look at money as something undoubtedly good, it couldn’t possibly be something negative to have money. You look at people who win the lottery and then having money fundamentally changes their whole life. Not just how they view life but how other people view them.

“That’s a change in particular that I really want to protect and that’s the reason why, in a way, I try to live ‘modestly’. Obviously, I don’t but in considering how much I make I try to live modestly because I want to just live a normal life, I don’t want the money to change my life. It’s great to have put it can also become a problem.” My thoughts go out to PewDiePie.

We decided to our own calculations and worked out that:

  • PewDiePie’s average earnings per video: $37,722 (£30,058)
  • PewDiePie’s average earnings per month: $1,823,600 (£1,453,108)
  • PewDiePie’s average earnings per year: $27.88 million (£22.22 million)
  • PewDiePie’s net worth: $58-97 million (£46.2-77.3 million)

That’s not bad considering he’s only 29 years old and doesn’t include what he makes aside from YouTube such as book sales.

PewDiePie broke the 97 million mark on July 3 and is steadily making his way to 98 million, which means that 100 million should only be a few days away.

What are his videos about?

When his channel started, he focused on doing ‘Let’s Play’ videos consisting of him giving a running commentary over games that he was playing at the time.
