RHOC's Kelly Dodd Reveals if She Voted for President Trump After Facing Backlash Over Photo With His Sons Eric and Donald Jr., Says She Doesn't Understand the Divide in America

Real Housewives of Orange County cast member Kelly Dodd is speaking out after being slammed online for a photo she shared of herself and fiancé Rick Leventhal attending a friend’s wedding alongside Donald Trump, Jr., Kimberly Guilfoyle, Eric Trump, and Lara Trump.

In a new interview, Kelly is revealing if she voted for President Trump during the last election. But first, she explained how she found herself at the same wedding as the Trumps before admitting that she doesn’t understand why there is such a “divide” in America.

During an episode of TMZ Live on Thursday, January 2, Kelly shared that her fiancé works for Fox News alongside the groom, Jesse Watters, and she also knows his now-wife, Emma DiGiovine.

“We simply went to their wedding. Kimberly was sitting behind us because she’s dating Donald Trump, Jr. Eric was there with his wife and I thought it would be cool to take a picture with them. I didn’t know that I was going to be slammed,” Kelly said of the backlash she faced from a select few over the photo.

“I’m just not a political person. I’ve never talked about politics and I’m not really into politics but you know what? We can all agree to disagree,” she continued. “We can all have our different views. I don’t want to be in a society that’s all like-minded… I see both sides.”

After being accused of taking a political stance with her Instagram post, the RHOC star clarified that she did not vote for President Trump during the 2016 election.

“I didn’t vote for Donald Trump but I can still be friends with people. I’m friends with a lot of people. That doesn’t mean that I ask people what their political views are every time I take a picture with them,” Kelly stated.

Kelly also addressed the backlash over her Trump photo on Twitter after a fan suggested her pic meant she was supportive of the President and his views.

“Being pulled into a 2 second photo means I agree with all of his politics? Sorry but I don’t think so,” Kelly replied. “I have not once publicly endorsed or supported anyone, nor do I share political views with Rick… careful what you ASSume.”
