Sanders, Ariana Grande exchange glowing tweets after concert encounter

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and singer Ariana Grande both tweeted photos of their meeting at Grande’s Tuesday show in Atlanta.“I want to thank @ArianaGrande for not only being a wonderful entertainer, but also for being such an outstanding advocate for social justice,” Sanders tweeted Wednesday. “We must all be prepared – like Ariana has shown – to fight for everyone who is struggling. It was great to meet her in Atlanta last night.”

“MY GUY. thank you Senator Sanders for coming to my show, making my whole night and for all that you stand for !” Grande tweeted. “@headcountorg and i are doing our best to make you proud. we’ve already registered 20k+ young voters at my shows alone. also i will never smile this hard again promise.”

Sanders has frequently teamed with musicians to spread his message, including Killer Mike of Run the Jewels, a campaign surrogate in both his 2016 and 2020 campaigns, and Cardi B, who also endorsed him both years and appeared in a filmed discussion of voting and civic advocacy with the Vermont senator.
