President Trump‘s reelection campaign ripped Washington Post congressional reporter Rachael Bade for a since-deleted tweet that included a photo of four Post reporters with the caption “Merry Impeachmas” on Wednesday night after President Trump was impeached in two nearly party-line votes.
“Merry Impeachmas from the WaPo team!” wrote Bade while having dinner and drinks after impeachment votes were cast in the Democratic-controlled House of Representatives. ”@pkcapitol is buying … w/@karoun @seungminkim @mikedebonis.”
“Ladies & gentlemen, your fair and objective press corps in action! What a joke,” Parscale tweeted. “Media needs to stop acting like they are ‘impartial’.”

Do these people have any self awareness? Any at all? pic.twitter.com/GaLa0lcV9U
If you’re tweeting “Merry impeachment” as a reporter, maybe you throw in the towel and become an opinion writer. Gig is over, Jan. Pathetic.

Bade deleted the tweet hours later, saying it was “being misinterpreted by some as an endorsement of some kind.”
I’m deleting a tweeting tonight that is being misinterpreted by some as an endorsement of some kind. To be absolutely clear, we atthe Post are merely glad we are getting a break for the holidays after a long 3 months. I will retweet the group photo w/ a better caption !

A Washington Post spokesperson told The Hill that Bade was “off the clock” and wasn’t celebrating impeachment.
“The reporter who sent out this ill-considered tweet was celebrating being off the clock after a long day covering impeachment,” the spokesperson said. “She wasn’t celebrating impeachment.”
The Hill has also requested comment from Bade, who joined the Post earlier this year after working as a reporter for Politico.
